Thanksgiving Place Card Tutorial Plus a Giveaway

DIY Thanksgiving Place cards with herb decorations

I've been working on some place cards for Thanksgiving dinner and I am loving how they are turning out. Here's what I've come up with so far:

White Thanksgiving place card with rosemary wreath

I printed the template (get it for free below) on white cardstock and glued on a rosemary wreath. I used a calligraphy marker for the name.

Then I decided that I preferred kraft cardstock. This one is decorated with sage leaves that I glued on and tied with a gold bow. The lettering is made with an emboss pen and gold heat embossing powder.Kraft DIY place card with gold embossed lettering and rosemary sprig

This one is similar, except I cut two slits in the bottom of the cardstock and stuck a rosemary sprig through. This one was the fastest to make.

DIY Thanksgiving place card with rosemary attached with a wax seal

Here, I used the calligraphy marker and attached the rosemary with a wax seal.

If you don't have access to rosemary or sage, you can use stickers or stamps. You could also use a big capital letter to match the name of the person. Here I used a DIY ticket that I attached with a brad. SO cute! Here's a link to the blog where I showed how to make the tickets if you are interested. DIY Tickets

I think I am going to do the rosemary sprig with the calligraphy writing for this Thanksgiving. If you want to make your own, just download the pdf below. It's for 8.5 x 11 inch paper and it makes 4 folded stand up place cards. Just cut each sheet in half lengthwise and widthwise and fold.

Here's a quick video of the whole process. Place Card Video

And here's the link to the Free Place Card Printable.

Let me know if you have any questions.
